Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary

Exodus 25:29

_ _ dishes — broad platters.

_ _ spoons — cups or concave vessels, used for holding incense.

_ _ covers — both for bread and incense.

_ _ bowls — cups; for though no mention is made of wine, libations were undoubtedly made to God, according to Josephus and the rabbins, once a week, when the bread was changed.

_ _ to cover withal — rather, “to pour out withal.”

Matthew Henry's Commentary
