The constancy of the Jews in captivity.

1 ¶ By² the riversº of Babylon,º there² we sat down,ºª yea,² we wept,ºª when we rememberedºª² Zion.º 2 We hangedºª our harpsº upon² the willowsº in the midstº thereof. 3 For² there² they that carried us away captiveºª requiredºª of us a song;ºº and they that wastedº us [required of us] mirth,º [saying], Singºª us [one] of the songsº² of Zion.º 4 How² shall we singºª² the LORD'Sº songº in² a strangeº land?º 5 If² I forgetºª thee, O Jerusalem,º let my right handº forgetºª [her cunning]. 6 If² I do not² rememberºª thee, let my tongueº cleaveºª to the roof of my mouth;º if² I preferºª not²² Jerusalemº above² my chiefº joy.º
