A Psalm of Asaph.

  1 O God°, the anations° have Iinvaded° bYour inheritance°;
  They have defiled° Your choly° temple°;
  They have dlaid° Jerusalem° in ruins°.
  2 They have given° the adead° bodies° of Your servants° for food° to the birds° of the heavens°,
  The flesh° of Your godly° ones° to the beasts° of the earth°.
  3 They have poured° out their blood° like water° round° about° Jerusalem°;
  And there° was ano° one° to bury° them.
  4 We have° become° a areproach° to our neighbors°,
  A scoffing° and derision° to those around° us.
  5 aHow° long°, O LORD°? Will You be angry° forever°?
  Will Your bjealousy° cburn° like° fire°?
  6 aPour° out Your wrath° upon the nations° which° bdo not know° You,
  And upon the kingdoms° which° cdo not call° upon Your name°.
  7 For they have adevoured° Jacob°
  And blaid° waste° his Ihabitation°.

The psalmist complaineth of the desolation of Jerusalem.

1 ¶ [[A Psalmº of Asaph.]]º O God,º the heathenº are comeºª into thine inheritance;º² thy holyº templeº have they defiled;ºª they have laidºª² Jerusalemº on heaps.º 2 ² The dead bodiesº of thy servantsº have they givenºª [to be] meatº unto the fowlsº of the heaven,º the fleshº of thy saintsº unto the beastsº of the earth.º 3 Their bloodº have they shedºª like waterº round aboutº Jerusalem;º and [there was] none² to buryºª [them]. 4 We are become² a reproachº to our neighbours,º a scornº and derisionº to them that are round aboutº us. 5 How long,²² LORD?º wilt thou be angryºª for ever?º shall thy jealousyº burnºª like² fire?º 6 Pour outºª thy wrathº upon² the heathenº that² have not² knownºª thee, and upon² the kingdomsº that² have not² calledºª upon thy name.º 7 For² they have devouredºª² Jacob,º and laid wasteºª his dwelling place.º
