  1 “Oh°° that you were like a brother° to me
  Who nursed° at my mother’s° breasts°.
  [If] I found° you outdoors°, I would kiss° you;
  No° one would despise° me, either°.
  2 “I would lead° you [and] abring° you
  Into the house° of my mother°, who used to instruct° me;
  I would give° you spiced° wine° to drink° from the juice° of my pomegranates°.
  3 “Let ahis left° hand° be under° my head°
  And his right° hand° embrace° me.”

The love of the Church to Christ.

The vehemency of love.

6 ¶ Setºª me as a sealº upon² thine heart,º as a sealº upon² thine arm:º for² loveº [is] strongº as death;º jealousyº [is] cruelº as the grave:º the coalsº thereof [are] coalsº of fire,º [which hath a] most vehement flame.º 7 Manyº watersº cannotºª²² quenchºª love,º neither² can the floodsº drownºª it: if² [a] manº would giveºª² all² the substanceº of his houseº for love,º it would utterly¹ª be contemned.ºª

The calling of the Gentiles.
