NASB — Matthew 7 — KJV

Judging Others

1 aDo not judge so that you will not be judged. 2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and Iaby your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you alook at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 aOr how Ican you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Prayer and the Golden Rule

7IaAsk, and bit will be given to you; IIseek, and you will find; IIIknock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you Iwho, when his son asks for a loaf, IIwill give him a stone? 10 Or Iif he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, ahow much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

The Narrow and Wide Gates

Christ ending his sermon in the mount, reproveth rash judgment,

1Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam [is] in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
