1 I acommend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a Iservant of the church which is at bCenchrea; 2 that you areceive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the Ibsaints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, IIand of myself as well.

Greet Epaenetus, my beloved, who is the bfirst convert to Christ from IcAsia. 6 Greet Mary, who has worked hard for you. 7 Greet Andronicus and IJunias, my akinsmen and my bfellow prisoners, who are outstanding among the apostles, who also IIwere cin Christ before me. 8 Greet Ampliatus, my beloved in the Lord. 9 Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker ain Christ, and Stachys my beloved. 10 Greet Apelles, the approved ain Christ. 17 ¶ Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and Ihindrances acontrary to the teaching which you learned, and bturn away from them. 18 For such men are aslaves, not of our Lord Christ but of btheir own Iappetites; and by their csmooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. 19 For the report of your obedience ahas reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but bI want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil. 20 aThe God of peace will soon crush bSatan under your feet.

and adviseth them to take heed of those which cause dissension and offences:

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all [men]. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.
