Rules concerning Valuations

1 Again, the LORD° spoke° to Moses°, saying°, 2 “Speak° to the sons° of Israel° and say° to them, ‘aWhen° a man° makes° a difficult° vow°, he [shall be valued] according to your valuation° of persons° belonging to the LORD°. 3 If your valuation° is of the male° from twenty° years° even to sixty° years° old°, then your valuation° shall be fifty° shekels° of silver°, after athe shekel° of the sanctuary°. 4 Or if° it is a female°, then your valuation° shall be thirty° shekels°. 5 If° it be from five° years° even to twenty° years° old° then your valuation° for the male° shall be twenty° shekels° and for the female° ten° shekels°. 6 But if° [they are] from a month° even up to five° years° old°, then your valuation° shall be afive° shekels° of silver° for the male°, and for the female° your valuation° shall be three° shekels° of silver°. 7 If° [they are] from sixty° years° old° and upward°, if° it is a male°, then your valuation° shall be fifteen°° shekels°, and for the female° ten° shekels°. 8 But if° he is poorer° than° your valuation°, then he shall be placed° before° the priest° and the priest° shall value° him; aaccording°° to Ithe means°° of the one who vowed°, the priest° shall value° him.

9 ¶ ‘Now if° it is an animal° of the kind which° Imen can present° as an offering° to the LORD°, any° such° that one gives° to the LORD° shall be holy°. 10 aHe shall not replace° it or exchange° it, a good° for a bad°, or° a bad° for a good°; or if° he does° exchange° animal° for animal°, then both it and its substitute° shall become° holy°. 11 If°, however, it is any° unclean° animal° of the kind which° Imen do not present° as an offering° to the LORD°, then he shall place° the animal° before° the priest°. 12 The priest° shall value° it Ias either° good° or° bad°; as you, the priest°, value° it, so° it shall be. 13 But if° he should ever° [wish to] redeem° it, then he shall add° one-fifth° of it to your valuation°.

14 ¶ ‘Now if° a man° consecrates° his house° as holy° to the LORD°, then the priest° shall value° it Ias either° good° or° bad°; as the priest° values° it, so° it shall stand°. 15 Yet if° the one who consecrates° it should [wish to] redeem° his house°, then he shall add° one-fifth° of your valuation° price° to it, so that it may be his.

16 ¶ ‘Again, if° a man° consecrates° to the LORD° part of the fields° of his own property°, then your valuation° shall be Iproportionate° to the seed° needed for it: a homer° of barley° seed° at fifty° shekels° of silver°. 17 If° he consecrates° his field° as of the year° of jubilee°, according to your valuation° it shall stand°. 18 If° he consecrates° his field° after° the jubilee°, however, then the priest° shall calculate° the price° for Ihim IIproportionate° to the years° that are left° until° the year° of jubilee°; and it shall be deducted° from your valuation°. 19 If° the one who consecrates° it should ever° wish to redeem° the field°, then he shall add° one-fifth° of your valuation° price° to it, so that it may pass° to him. 20 Yet if° he will not redeem° the field°, Ibut has sold° the field° to another° man°, it may no° longer° be redeemed°; 21 and when it Ireverts° in the jubilee°, the field° shall be holy° to the LORD°, like a field° IIset° apart°; ait shall be for the priest° as his IIIproperty°. 22 Or if° he consecrates° to the LORD° a field° which he has bought°, which° is not a part of the field° of his own Iproperty°, 23 then the priest° shall calculate° for Ihim the amount° of your valuation° up to the year° of jubilee°; and he shall on that day° give° your valuation° as holy° to the LORD°. 24 In the year° of jubilee° the field° shall return° to the one from whom° he bought° it, to whom° the possession° of the land° belongs. 25 Every° valuation° of yours, moreover, shall be after athe shekel° of the sanctuary°. 26 ¶ ‘aHowever°, a firstborn° among animals°, which° as a firstborn° belongs to the LORD°, no° man° may consecrate° it; whether° ox° or° sheep°, it is the LORDS°. 27 But if° [it is] among the unclean° animals°, then he shall Iredeem° it according to your valuation° and add° to it one-fifth° of it; and if° it is not redeemed°, then it shall be sold° according to your valuation°.

It shall not be redeemed°.’”

He that maketh a singular vow must be the LORD's.

1 ¶ And the LORDº spakeºª unto² Moses,º saying,ºª 2 Speakºª unto² the childrenº of Israel,º and sayºª unto² them, When² a manº shall make a singularºª vow,º the personsº [shall be] for the LORDº by thy estimation.º

The estimation of the person.

3 And thy estimationº shall be² of the maleº from twenty¹ years¹ oldº²²² even unto² sixtyº yearsº old,º even thy estimationº shall be² fiftyº shekelsº of silver,º after the shekelº of the sanctuary.º 4 And if² it² [be] a female,º then thy estimationº shall be² thirtyº shekels.º 5 And if² [it be] from five¹ years¹ oldº²²² even unto² twentyº yearsº old,º then thy estimationº shall be² of the maleº twentyº shekels,º and for the femaleº tenº shekels.º 6 And if² [it be] from a month¹ oldº²² even unto² fiveº yearsº old,º then thy estimationº shall be² of the maleº fiveº shekelsº of silver,º and for the femaleº thy estimationº [shall be] threeº shekelsº of silver.º 7 And if² [it be] from sixty¹ years¹ oldº²²² and above;º if² [it be] a male,º then thy estimationº shall be² fifteenºº shekels,º and for the femaleº tenº shekels.º 8 But if² he² be poorerºª than thy estimation,º² then he shall present¹ª himself² beforeº the priest,º and the priestº shall valueºª him; according toº²² his abilityººª that vowedºª shall the priestº valueºª him.

Of a beast given by vow.

9 And if² [it be] a beast,º whereof²² men bringºª an offeringº unto the LORD,º all² that² [any man] givethºª of² such unto the LORDº shall be² holy.º 10 He shall not² alterºª it, nor² changeºª it, a goodº for a bad,º or² a badº for a good:º and if² he shall at all¹ª changeºª beastº for beast,º then it² and the exchangeº thereof shall be² holy.º 11 And if² [it be] any² uncleanº beast,º of which²² they do not² offerºª a sacrificeº unto the LORD,º then he shall presentºª² the beastº beforeº the priest:º 12 And the priestº shall valueºª it, whetherº it be goodº or¹ bad:º as thou valuestº it, [who art] the priest,º so² shall it be.² 13 But if² he will at all¹ª redeemºª it, then he shall addºª a fifthº [part] thereof unto² thy estimation.º

Of a house.

14 ¶ And when² a manº shall sanctifyºª² his houseº [to be] holyº unto the LORD,º then the priestº shall estimateºª it, whether² it be goodº or bad:º as² the priestº shall estimateºª it, so² shall it stand.ºª 15 And if² he that sanctifiedºª it will redeemºª² his house,º then he shall addºª the fifthº [part] of the moneyº of thy estimationº unto² it, and it shall be² his.

Of a field, and the redemption thereof.

16 And if² a manº shall sanctifyºª unto the LORDº [some part] of a fieldº² of his possession,º then thy estimationº shall be² according¹ to² the seedº thereof: an homerº of barleyº seedº [shall be valued] at fiftyº shekelsº of silver.º 17 If² he sanctifyºª his fieldº from the yearº² of jubile,º according to thy estimationº it shall stand.ºª 18 But if² he sanctifyºª his fieldº afterº the jubile,º then the priestº shall reckonºª unto him² the moneyº according toº² the yearsº that remain,ºª even unto² the yearº of the jubile,º and it shall be abatedºª from thy estimation.º² 19 And if² he that sanctifiedºª² the fieldº will in any wise¹ª redeemºª it, then he shall addºª the fifthº [part] of the moneyº of thy estimationº unto² it, and it shall be assuredºª to him. 20 And if² he will not² redeemºª² the field,º or if² he have soldºª² the fieldº to anotherº man,º it shall not² be redeemedºª any more.² 21 But the field,º when it goeth outºª in the jubile,º shall be² holyº unto the LORD,º as a fieldº devoted;º the possessionº thereof shall be² the priest's.º 22 And if² [a man] sanctifyºª unto the LORDº² a fieldº which he hath bought,º which² [is] not² of the fieldsº² of his possession;º 23 Then the priestº shall reckonºª unto him² the worthº of thy estimation,º [even] unto² the yearº of the jubile:º and he shall giveºª² thine estimationº in that² day,º [as] a holy thingº unto the LORD.º 24 In the yearº of the jubileº the fieldº shall returnºª unto him² of whom²² it was bought,ºª [even] to him to whom² the possessionº of the landº [did belong]. 25 And all² thy estimationsº shall be² according to the shekelº of the sanctuary:º twentyº gerahsº shall be² the shekel.º
