The Lamp and the Bread of the Sanctuary

1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Command the sons of Israel that they bring to you aclear oil from beaten olives for the Ilight, to make a lamp IIburn continually. 3 Outside the veil of testimony in the tent of meeting, Aaron shall keep it in order from evening to morning before the LORD continually; [it shall be] a perpetual statute throughout your generations. 4 He shall keep the lamps in order on the apure [gold] lampstand before the LORD continually.

5 ¶ “aThen you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it; two-tenths [of an ephah] shall be [in] each cake. 6 You shall set them [in] two rows, six [to] a row, on the apure [gold] table before the LORD. 7 You shall put pure frankincense on each row that it may be aa memorial portion for the bread, [even] an offering by fire to the LORD. 8 aEvery sabbath day he shall set it in order before the LORD bcontinually; it is an everlasting covenant Ifor the sons of Israel. 9 aIt shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him from the LORDS offerings by fire, [his] portion forever.”

10 ¶ Now the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the sons of Israel; and the Israelite woman’s son and a man of Israel struggled with each other in the camp. 11 The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the aName and cursed. So they brought him to Moses. (Now his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.) 12 They put him in Icustody IIso that athe command of the LORD might be made clear to them.

13 ¶ Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 14 “Bring the one who has cursed outside the camp, and let all who heard him alay their hands on his head; then blet all the congregation stone him. 15 You shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘aIf anyone curses his God, then he will bear his sin. 16 Moreover, the one who ablasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him. The alien as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.

“An Eye for an Eye”

17 ¶ ‘aIf a man Itakes the life of any human being, he shall surely be put to death. 18 aThe one who Itakes the life of an animal shall make it good, life for life. 19 If a man Iinjures his neighbor, just as he has done, so it shall be done to him: 20 afracture for fracture, beye for eye, tooth for tooth; just as he has Iinjured a man, so it shall be IIinflicted on him. 21 Thus the one who Ikills an animal shall make it good, but athe one who Ikills a man shall be put to death. 22 There shall be aone Istandard for you; it shall be for the stranger as well as the native, for I am the LORD your God.’” 23 Then Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and they brought the one who had cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. Thus the sons of Israel did, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

The oil for the lamps.

1 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually. 3 Without the vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually: [it shall be] a statute for ever in your generations. 4 He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the LORD continually.

The shewbread.

5 ¶ And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake. 6 And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD. 7 And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon [each] row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, [even] an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 8 Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, [being taken] from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant. 9 And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it [is] most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.

Shelomith's son blasphemeth.

10 ¶ And the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father [was] an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish [woman] and a man of Israel strove together in the camp; 11 And the Israelitish woman's son blasphemed the name [of the LORD], and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother's name [was] Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:) 12 And they put him in ward, that the mind of the LORD might be shewed them.

13 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 14 Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard [him] lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him. 15 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin. 16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, [and] all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name [of the LORD], shall be put to death.
