Descendants of Noah

1 Now these are [the records of] the generations of Shem, Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah; and sons were born to them after the flood.

2aThe sons of Japheth [were] bGomer and Magog and cMadai and dJavan and Tubal and eMeshech and Tiras. 3 The sons of Gomer [were] aAshkenaz and IRiphath and bTogarmah. 4 The sons of Javan [were] Elishah and aTarshish, Kittim and IDodanim. 5 From these the coastlands of the nations Iwere separated into their lands, every one according to his language, according to their families, into their nations.

6aThe sons of Ham [were] Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan. 7 The sons of Cush [were] aSeba and Havilah and Sabtah and bRaamah and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah [were] bSheba and cDedan. 8 Now Cush Ibecame the father of Nimrod; he IIbecame a mighty one on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD.” 10 The beginning of his kingdom was IaBabel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of bShinar. 11 From that land he went forth ainto Assyria, and built Nineveh and Rehoboth-Ir and Calah, 12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city. 13 Mizraim Ibecame the father of aLudim and Anamim and Lehabim and Naphtuhim 14 and aPathrusim and Casluhim (from which came the Philistines) and Caphtorim.

21 ¶ Also to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, [and] the Iolder brother of Japheth, children were born. 22 aThe sons of Shem [were] bElam and Asshur and cArpachshad and dLud and Aram. 23 The sons of Aram [were] aUz and Hul and Gether and Mash. 24 Arpachshad Ibecame the father of aShelah; and Shelah Ibecame the father of Eber. 25 aTwo sons were born to Eber; the name of the one [was] IPeleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name [was] Joktan. 26 Joktan Ibecame the father of Almodad and Sheleph and Hazarmaveth and Jerah 27 and Hadoram and Uzal and Diklah 28 and IObal and Abimael and Sheba 29 and Ophir and Havilah and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan. 30 Now their Isettlement IIextended from Mesha as you go toward Sephar, the hill country of the east. 31 These are the sons of Shem, according to their families, according to their languages, by their lands, according to their nations.

21 ¶ Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were [children] born. 22 The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram. 23 And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash. 24 And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber. 25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one [was] Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name [was] Joktan. 26 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah, 27 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah, 28 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba, 29 And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these [were] the sons of Joktan. 30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east. 31 These [are] the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations. 32 These [are] the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
