  1 Gather° yourselves° together, yes, agather°,
  O nation° bwithout° Ishame°,
  2 Before° the decree° Itakes° effect°
  The day° passes° alike the chaff°
  Before°° the bburning° anger° of the LORD° comes° upon you,
  Before°° the cday° of the LORDS° anger° comes° upon you.
  3 aSeek° the LORD°,
  All° you bhumble° of the Iearth°
  Who° have carried° out His IIordinances°;
  cSeek° righteousness°, seek° humility°.
  Perhaps° you will be dhidden°
  In the day° of the LORDS° anger°.

  And Ashkelon° a desolation°;

  5 Woe° to the inhabitants° of the seacoast°°,
  The nation° of the IaCherethites°!
  The word° of the LORD° is bagainst° you,
  O cCanaan°, land° of the Philistines°;
  And I will ddestroy° you
  So° that there° will be eno° inhabitant°.
  6 So the seacoast°° will be apastures°,
  [With] Icaves° for shepherds° and folds° for flocks°.
  7 And the coast° will be
  For the aremnant° of the house° of Judah°,
  They will bpasture° on it.
  In the houses° of Ashkelon° they will lie° down° at evening°;
  For the LORD° their God° will ccare° for them
  And drestore° their fortune°.

  8 ¶ “I have heard° the Iataunting° of Moab°
  And the brevilings° of the sons° of Ammon°,
  With which° they have IItaunted° My people°
  And IIIcbecome° arrogant° against° their territory°.
  9 “Therefore°, as I live°,” declares° the LORD° of hosts°,
  The God° of Israel°,
  “Surely° aMoab° will be like bSodom°
  And the sons° of cAmmon° like dGomorrah°
  A place° possessed° by nettles° and salt° pits°,
  And a perpetual° desolation°.
  The remnant° of My people° will eplunder° them
  And the remainder° of My nation° will inherit° them.”
10 This° they will have in return° for their apride°, because° they have Ibtaunted° and IIbecome° arrogant° against° the people° of the LORD° of hosts°. 11 The LORD° will be aterrifying° to them, for He will Istarve° ball° the gods° of the earth°; and all° the ccoastlands° of the nations° will dbow° down° to Him, everyone° from his [own] place°.

  14 Flocks° will lie° down° in her midst°,
  IAll° beasts° which range in herds°;
  Both° the IIapelican° and the hedgehog°
  Will lodge° in IIIthe tops° of her pillars°;
  IVBirds° will sing° in the window°,
  Desolation° [will be] on the threshold°;
  For He has laid° bare° the cedar° work°.
  15 This° is the aexultant° city°
  Which bdwells° securely°,
  Who says° in her heart°,
  “cI am, and there° is no° one° besides° me.”
  How° she has become° a ddesolation°,
  A resting° place° for beasts°!

The judgment of the Philistines,

4 ¶ For² Gazaº shall be² forsaken,ºª and Ashkelonº a desolation:º they shall drive outºª Ashdodº at the noon day,º and Ekronº shall be rooted up.ºª 5 Woeº unto the inhabitantsºª of the seaº coast,º the nationº of the Cherethites!º the wordº of the LORDº [is] against² you; O Canaan,º the landº of the Philistines,º I will even destroyºª thee, that there shall be no²² inhabitant.ºª 6 And the seaº coastº shall be² dwellingsº [and] cottagesº for shepherds,ºª and foldsº for flocks.º 7 And the coastº shall be² for the remnantº of the houseº of Judah;º they shall feedºª thereupon:² in the housesº of Ashkelonº shall they lie downºª in the evening:º for² the LORDº their Godº shall visitºª them, and turn awayºª their captivity.ºª

8 ¶ I have heardºª the reproachº of Moab,º and the revilingsº of the childrenº of Ammon,º whereby² they have reproachedºª² my people,º and magnifiedºª [themselves] against² their border.º 9 Therefore² [as] I² live,º saithºª the LORDº of hosts,º the Godº of Israel,º Surely² Moabº shall be² as Sodom,º and the childrenº of Ammonº as Gomorrah,º [even] the breedingº of nettles,º and saltpits,ºº and a perpetualºº desolation:º the residueº of my peopleº shall spoilºª them, and the remnantº of my peopleº shall possessºª them. 10 This² shall they have for² their pride,º because² they have reproachedºª and magnifiedºª [themselves] against² the peopleº of the LORDº of hosts.º 11 The LORDº [will be] terribleºª unto² them: for² he will famishºª² all² the godsº of the earth;º and [men] shall worshipºª him, every oneº from his place,º² [even] all² the islesº of the heathen.º
