The Tabernacle is set up at Shiloh.

1 ¶ And the whole² congregationº of the childrenº of Israelº assembled togetherºª at Shiloh,º and set upºª² the tabernacleº of the congregationº there.² And the landº was subduedºª beforeº them.

The remainder of the land is described, and divided into seven parts.

2 And there remainedºª among the childrenº of Israelº sevenº tribes,º which² had not² yet receivedºª² their inheritance.º 3 And Joshuaº saidºª unto² the childrenº of Israel,º How long²² [are] ye² slackºª to goºª to possessºª² the land,º which² the LORDº Godº of your fathersº hath givenºª you? 4 Give² out¹ª from among you threeº men¹² for [each] tribe:º and I will sendºª them, and they shall rise,ºª and goºª through the land,º and describeºª it accordingº to the inheritanceº of them; and they shall comeºª [again] to² me. 5 And they shall divideºª it into sevenº parts:º Judahº shall abideºª in² their coastº on the south,º² and the houseº of Josephº shall abideºª in² their coastsº on the north.º² 6 Ye² shall therefore describeºª² the landº [into] sevenº parts,º and bringºª [the description] hither² to² me, that I may castºª lotsº for you here² beforeº the LORDº our God.º 7 But² the Levitesº have no² partº amongº you; for² the priesthoodº of the LORDº [is] their inheritance:º and Gad,º and Reuben,º and halfº the tribeº of Manasseh,º have receivedºª their inheritanceº beyondº² Jordanº on the east,º which² Mosesº the servantº of the LORDº gaveºª them.

8 ¶ And the men¹² arose,ºª and went away:¹ª² and Joshuaº chargedºª² them that wentºª to describeºª² the land,º saying,ºª Go¹ª² and walkºª through the land,º and describeºª it, and come againºª to² me, that I may here² castºª lotsº for you beforeº the LORDº in Shiloh.º 9 And the men¹² went¹ª² and passed throughºª the land,º and describedºª it by citiesº into sevenº partsº in² a book,º and cameºª [again] to² Joshuaº to² the hostº at Shiloh.º

Joshua divideth it by lot.

10 ¶ And Joshuaº castºª lotsº for them in Shilohº beforeº the LORD:º and there² Joshuaº dividedºª² the landº unto the childrenº of Israelº according to their divisions.º

The lot of the border of Benjamin.

11 ¶ And the lotº of the tribeº of the childrenº of Benjaminº came upºª according to their families:º and the coastº of their lotº came forthºª between² the childrenº of Judahº and the childrenº of Joseph.º 12 And their borderº on the northº sideº was² from² Jordan;º and the borderº went upºª to² the sideº of Jerichoº on the north¹ side,²² and went upºª through the mountainsº westward;º and the goings outº thereof were² at the wildernessº of Bethaven.º 13 And the borderº went overºª from thence²² toward Luz,º to² the sideº of Luz,º which² [is] Bethel,º southward;º and the borderº descendedºª to Atarothadar,º near² the hillº that² [lieth] on the south sideº² of the netherº Bethhoron.º 14 And the borderº was drawnºª [thence], and compassedºª the cornerº of the seaº southward,º from² the hillº that² [lieth] beforeº² Bethhoronº southward;º and the goings outº thereof were² at² Kirjathbaal,º which² [is] Kirjathjearim,º a cityº of the childrenº of Judah:º this² [was] the westº quarter.º 15 And the southº quarterº [was] from the endº² of Kirjathjearim,º and the borderº went outºª on the west,º and went outºª to² the wellº of watersº of Nephtoah:º 16 And the borderº came downºª to² the endº of the mountainº that² [lieth] beforeº² the valleyº of the sonº of Hinnom,º [and] which² [is] in the valleyº of the giantsº on the north,º and descendedºª to the valleyº of Hinnom,º to² the sideº of Jebusiº on the south,º and descendedºª to Enrogel,º 17 And was drawnºª from the north,º² and went forthºª to Enshemesh,º and went forthºª toward² Geliloth,º which² [is] over againstº the going upº of Adummim,º and descendedºª to the stoneº of Bohanº the sonº of Reuben,º 18 And passed² along¹ª toward² the sideº over againstº Arabahº northward,º and went downºª unto Arabah:º 19 And the borderº passed alongºª to² the sideº of Bethhoglahº northward:º and the outgoingsº of the borderº were² at² the northº bayº of the saltº seaº at² the southº endº of Jordan:º this² [was] the southº coast.º 20 And Jordanº was the borderºª of it on the eastº side.º This² [was] the inheritanceº of the childrenº of Benjamin,º by the coastsº thereof round about,º according to their families.º

21 Now the citiesº of the tribeº of the childrenº of Benjaminº according to their familiesº were² Jericho,º and Bethhoglah,º and the valleyº of Keziz,º 22 And Betharabah,º and Zemaraim,º and Bethel,º 23 And Avim,º and Parah,º and Ophrah,º 24 And Chepharhaammonai,º and Ophni,º and Gaba;º twelveºº citiesº with their villages:º 25 Gibeon,º and Ramah,º and Beeroth,º 26 And Mizpeh,º and Chephirah,º and Mozah,º 27 And Rekem,º and Irpeel,º and Taralah,º 28 And Zelah,º Eleph,º and Jebusi,º which² [is] Jerusalem,º Gibeath,º [and] Kirjath;º fourteenºº citiesº with their villages.º This² [is] the inheritanceº of the childrenº of Benjaminº according to their families.º
