God Speaks Now to Job

1 Then the LORD° aanswered° Job° out of the whirlwind° and said°,
  2 “Who° is this° that adarkens° counsel°
  By words° without° knowledge°?
  3 “Now° agird° up your loins° like a man°,
  And bI will ask° you, and you instruct° Me!
  4 “Where° were you awhen I laid° the foundation° of the earth°?
  Tell° [Me], if° you Ihave° understanding°,
  5 Who° set° its ameasurements°? Since° you know°.
  Or° who° stretched° the line° on it?
  6 “On what° awere its bases° sunk°?
  Or° who° laid° its cornerstone°°,
  7 When the morning° stars° sang° together°
  And all° the asons° of God° shouted° for joy°?

  12 ¶ “Have you Iever°° in your life°° commanded° the morning°,
  [And] caused the dawn° to know° its place°,
  13 That it might take° hold° of athe ends° of the earth°,
  And bthe wicked° be shaken° out of it?
  14 “It is changed° like clay° [under] the seal°;
  And they stand° forth° like° a garment°.

God, by his mighty works, convinceth Job of ignorance,

4 Whereº wast² thou when I laid the foundationsºª of the earth?º declare,ºª if² thou hast¹ª understanding.º² 5 Who² hath laidºª the measuresº thereof, if² thou knowest?ºª or² who² hath stretchedºª the lineº upon² it? 6 Whereupon²² are the foundationsº thereof fastened?ºª or² who² laidºª the cornerº stoneº thereof; 7 When the morningº starsº sangºª together,º and all² the sonsº of Godº shouted¹ª for joy?² 8 Or [who] shut upºª the seaº with doors,º when it brake forth,ºª [as if] it had issued outºª of the womb?º² 9 When I madeºª the cloudº the garmentº thereof, and thick darknessº a swaddlingbandº for it, 10 And brake upºª for² it my decreedº [place], and setºª barsº and doors,º 11 And said,ºª Hithertoºº shalt thou come,ºª but no² further:ºª and here² shall thy proudº wavesº be stayed?ºª 12 Hast thou commandedºª the morningº since thy days;º² [and] caused the dayspringº to knowºª his place;º 13 That it might take holdºª of the endsº of the earth,º that the wickedº might be shaken² out¹ª of² it? 14 It is turnedºª as clayº [to] the seal;º and they standºª as² a garment.º 15 And from the wickedº² their lightº is withholden,ºª and the highºª armº shall be broken.ºª 16 Hast thou enteredºª into² the springsº of the sea?º or hast thou walkedºª in the searchº of the depth?º 17 Have the gatesº of deathº been openedºª unto thee? or hast thou seenºª the doorsº of the shadow of death?º 18 Hast thou perceivedºª² the breadthº of the earth?º declareºª if² thou knowestºª it all.² 19 Where²² [is] the wayº [where] lightº dwelleth?ºª and [as for] darkness,º where²² [is] the placeº thereof, 20 That² thou shouldest takeºª it to² the boundº thereof, and that² thou shouldest knowºª the pathsº [to] the houseº thereof? 21 Knowestºª thou [it], because² thou wast then² born?ºª or [because] the numberº of thy daysº [is] great?º 22 Hast thou enteredºª into² the treasuresº of the snow?º or hast thou seenºª the treasuresº of the hail,º 23 Which² I have reservedºª against the timeº of trouble,º against the dayº of battleº and war?º 24 By whatº² wayº is the lightº parted,ºª [which] scatterethºª the east windº upon² the earth?º 25 Who² hath dividedºª a watercourseº for the overflowing of waters,º or a wayº for the lightningº of thunder;º 26 To cause it to rainºª on² the earth,º [where] no² manº [is; on] the wilderness,º wherein [there is] no² man;º 27 To satisfyºª the desolateº and wasteº [ground]; and to cause the budº of the tender herbº to spring forth?ºª 28 Hathº the rainº a father?º or² who² hath begottenºª the dropsº of dew?º 29 Out of whose wombº²² cameºª the ice?º and the hoary frostº of heaven,º who² hath genderedºª it? 30 The watersº are hidºª as [with] a stone,º and the faceº of the deepº is frozen.ºª
